When you bake waffles using this digital waffle maker, you create the popular Japanese and Korean Taiyaki waffles. These are made from a pancake batter and have space to add a filling. The shape of Taiyaki waffles is usually a fish because in Japan this symbolises for happiness. After baking, you can fill the Taiyaki waffles with either a traditional red bean paste or something different, such as cheese, chocolate or custard.
