With the plate setter/heat deflector, the ceramic deflector plate hangs above the coals, allowing you to let the food cook slowly. For example chicken, fish, pulled pork or spare ribs. The ceramic deflector plate ensures that the heat from the coals does not reach your dish directly. This makes the plate setter/heat deflector work like a kind of oven. Because the heating is indirect, you also prevent food from burning. Place the ceramic deflector plate on the fire ring as soon as the coals are hot enough.
